Police are on the hunt for a man who brandished a knife at Balham Underground station.

Officers were called to the station at 6.11pm on Monday evening after reports of a young man carrying a knife.

Witnesses say he jumped over the ticket barrier and ran away from the station.

No injuries have been reported.

British Transport Police are treating the incident seriously and are urging anyone with information to contact them on 101.
