Officers were called to Hollymoor Lane following multiple reports of individuals setting off fireworks towards people and parked vehicles.

One vehicle was left burnt out as a result of this incident, which took place at around 7.30pm.

Damage was also caused to a fire engine that was there to assist with a nearby fire caused by the fireworks.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.

Epsom and Ewell Borough Commander Tommy Pearson said: “Acts such as these are totally unacceptable. The danger of misusing fireworks can cause life changing injuries, or worse. This is not just antisocial, it’s totally reckless behaviour. There are increased officers this weekend to take robust action against anyone using fireworks illegally.”
