Jon Daniel created campaigns for a range of clients including the Inland Revenue, NHS Careers and music band, Soul II Soul.

The former Richmond resident and alumnus of Richmond College, passed away in 2017.

The exhibition at Eel Pie Museum will run throughout the year and focus on his enduring impact on Black British culture and creativity.

Michelle Whitby, Eel Pie Island Museum curator and friend of Jon Daniel, said: “We are very proud to be able to pay tribute to Jon, here at the Eel Pie Museum. His work is as inspiring and positive as Jon was, and we hope that having a piece of his legacy in the museum will introduce him to a wider audience and keep on spreading the positivity.”

Councillor Nancy Baldwin, Spokesperson for Communities, Equalities and the Voluntary Sector, said: “Richmond is proud to claim Jon Daniel as one of our own. It is an honour to focus the community’s attention on him – the artist, the activist, the man.”
