A man who travelled to Syria with the intention of committing acts of terrorism and then returned to the UK has been jailed for nine years.

Isa Giga, 32, previously of Hounslow, was arrested at Heathrow Airport in May 2024 after he caught a flight back from Turkey.

Evidence gathered by Met counter terrorism officers included emails and social media messages.

He was convicted on the 18th July after a two-week trial at the Old Bailey.
