If so, the brigade is holding an open day at its Salford site on Saturday for control room staff.

These staff member work out of Surrey and Sussex’s joint centre which covers over 2.5 million people.

The control room dispatched crews to over 33,000 incidents, last year ranging from house fires to road traffic collisions.
