Harlequins triumphed under the sunny skies at the Twickenham Stoop.

The London Derby between The Quarters and Saracens added extra spice to a unique atmosphere in the South-West London stadium.

On his return from international duty, Quins’ fly-half Marcus Smith brought back the sparkle.  He opened the scoring, converting his own try, before adding a penalty.  He thought he had scored a brace before the referee ruled ‘no try’.

Half-time – Harlequins 10 – 7 Saracens (Burke try scorer; Farrell conversion)

The Quarters started the second half on the front foot; Tyrone Green extending their lead just 2 minutes in; Smith again converting.

Saracens fought back with Earl finishing off a superb cross-field kick which stretched the Quins’ defence; Farrell converting.

The Quarters thought they had scored again through debutant Wenger but that try was also disallowed.  As the clock counted down, Saracens gave away repeated penalties and allowed Marcus Smith to make full use of his 60-seconds on the tee to kick as the clock turned red.
