A husband-and-wife duo from Surbiton are trying to raise more than £350,000 to get their community initiative off the ground.

Bryan and Em Vaughan-Farkas want to launch The Place to Be Society on the Thames next spring.

They’ve acquired a boat at Town End Pier with the aim of opening it up for exhibitions, workshops, music and comedy events.

Em says they see their initiative as a way to really unite the Surbiton and Kingston communities.
