Jack Shepherd was freed from his six-year prison sentence in January last year.
However, he is now back behind bars for breaching his licence conditions.
24 year old Charlotte Brown had been on a first date with Shepherd in 2015 when they decided to take a speed boat down the Thames.
She was thrown from the boat when it capsized after hitting a submerged tree trunk near Wandsworth Bridge.
Shepherd then went on the run and was convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence in his absence after an Old Bailey trial in 2018.
The prison service does not comment on individual cases.
