Police were called to a report a man had been assaulted in Balham High Road at around 3.40pm on Sunday, the 24th of August.
A man, aged 67, was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries and died in hospital on Friday.
He has been named as James Gbadamosi and his family are being supported by specialist officers.
37 year old Andre Wright-Walters has appeared in court and been released on bail to appear at Kingston Crown Court later this month.
A 30-year-old woman was also arrested has been bailed pending further enquiries.
