It’s over its decision to close a resettlement scheme for vulnerable Afghans.
The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association was established in 2021, shortly before the Taliban seized power there.
It works to recognise the contributions of Afghan men and women to the UK’s two-decade mission in Afghanistan.
It says many who have worked with the Government continue to live in hiding, in fear of detection, arrest, torture and death.
The UK Government closed The Afghan Resettlement Scheme in July.
A major Government data breach in 2022 was found to have affected 100,000 resettlement applicants putting them at heightened risk of harm.
The charity is seeking to overturn the decision to close the scheme through judicial review proceedings in the High Court.
We’ve contacted the The Ministry of Defence (MoD) for comment.
