The fascinating history of Epsom’s five psychiatric hospitals has gone on permanent display.

The cluster of buildings, created for 10,000 patients in the early 1900s, was the largest complex of its kind in Europe.

Horton Hospital was the second of the five psychiatric hospitals to open, followed by St Ebba’s Long Grove and West Park.

The free exhibition at the now Horton Arts Centre features photos and accounts from the people who lived and worked there.
