Doctors at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital are warning of an increase in measles cases.

They say it’s because uptake of childhood vaccinations, including the MMR vaccine, is the lower than usual.

Babies, young children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immunity are at increased risk of complications from measles.

1 in 5 children who contract the disease will need to visit hospital with symptoms including a high fever and a blotchy red-brown rash.
