30-year-old Kieran Goddard pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and assaulting emergency workers.
Goddard trapped his victim in her home, threw a knife near her, and stabbed packaging on the 12th of April last year.
The victim called the police, and he went on to assault three officers when they arrived.
In court, the victim stated she pursued the case to protect others.
