While most of us will celebrate Christmas at home, a man from Hammersmith is taking on the world’s “toughest rowing challenge.”

30-year-old Scott Brown only took up the sport two years ago when he joined Fulham Reach Boat Club’s learn-to-row programme.

He’s part of a three-man team who will spend Christmas and the new year making the 3,000-mile unsupported journey across the Atlantic.

Their boat, the Vaquita, departed from the Canary Islands at the end of November.
