Transgender women will be banned from playing in the female category of most tennis tournaments in Britain.

That’s under a new policy from the Lawn Tennis Association in Roehampton.

Current rules allow players to self-identify but this will change from next month.

Trans women and non-binary individuals will only be allowed to compete in the male category of specified competitions.
