An estimated £6.3 million pounds will be spent on updating London Overground railway to give its lines names and different colours.

From today, TFL will begin changing 6-thousand station signs, maps and online journey planners, paid for out of the Mayor’s budget.

The names will be Lioness, Mildmay, Windrush, Weaver, Suffragette and Liberty.

Rail historian Christian Wolmar says it can only be a good thing.
