It follows Surrey Police’s five-year strategy to withdraw from CCTV partnerships with Surrey councils.
The council has been voluntarily maintaining the day-to-day running of CCTV.
£100,000 was provisionally allocated in this year’s Budget, along with annual running costs of £40,000 to upgrade the existing cameras.
The next steps will see the council begin a procurement exercise to maximise coverage across the district, within the budgets allocated.
