Eleven people have been charged with attempting to smuggle more than 300 kilos of cannabis into the UK via Heathrow and Gatwick.

They are the latest to be detained in conjunction with border force investigations.

17 people have been charged in total with attempting to traffic around 618 kilos of cannabis into the UK since September the 14th.

They include professional footballer Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

They are due in court next month
