Work “to make it easier” to walk and cycle across the bridge is due to start on Monday morning.
The project will see the installation of upgraded traffic signals either side of the route on Putney High Street and Lower Richmond Road.
Some pedestrian crossing islands will also be removed, and a segregated bike lane introduced.
