Twickenham’s MP is urging ministers to think again about approval to pump millions of gallons of Waste Water into the Thames near Teddington Lock.

Lib Dem Muneira Wilson says she’s worried about chemicals finding their way into the river and supplies of drinking water.

Thames Water plans to pump 75 million litres a day of treated waste-water from Mogden Sewage works to the river through an underground pipe.

They say it’s needed to protect against drought. But campaigners claim the system was adopted mainly because it’s the cheapest alternative.
