Merton Council is closing its vehicle scrappage scheme to new applicants.

It was the first of its kind in London and designed to run alongside the Transport for London scheme when ULEZ expanded.

Anyone who is eligible, but has not yet applied, should do so before September the 1st.

448 applications to the scheme, which sees £1,000 offered per vehicle, have been approved over the last year.
