The County Council says it has substantially increased its funding to make routes safer and more attractive.
This project is in addition to the surface dressing programme which will see over 100 roads improved to help prevent potholes.
Major motorway junctions are also getting a makeover including the M25 at Junction 9 Leatherhead and the M3 Junction 1 Sunbury Cross.
