People living across Spelthorne are being warned about a new telephone scam.
The calls come from an unknown phone number and the fraudster asks the receiver to apply for a Household Support Fund loan.
Spelthorne Borough Council says these calls are not from the authority.
It’s reminding residents to be cautious if approached in this way and to never give bank account details to unverified callers.
