There’s going to be a new crackdown on littering, dog mess and fly tipping across Sutton. . . but not until the new year.

A survey completed by residents in 2021 revealed strong support for a zero-tolerance approach to these kinds of environmental crimes.

The council launched a pilot programme of measures at the time which it says led to a “notable” decrease in littering and fly tipping.

Councillors have now agreed to continue the enforcement work which will start on the 1st of January.
