There’s speculation Rachel Reeves could scale back spending to pay for above-inflation pay rises including for teachers and NHS workers.

Other parties say Labour would’ve known the scale of the problem.

They’d campaigned during the election on not raising taxes.

But Environment Secretary and MP for Streatham and Croydon North, Steve Reed, says the government won’t duck tough decisions.
