South Western Railway has announced the completion of over 100 improvements to stations across its network.

£6.5 million has been invested in revamp projects across the network over the past year.

In total, 18 stations have been restored, providing greater accessibility, sustainability and comfort.

Toilet facilities at Kingston and Richmond have been refreshed, with more efficient lighting and sensors to reduce water waste.

‘RoomMate’, installed at Hampton Court and Wimbledon, is an automated audible guide to the toilet layout for people with sight loss.

New benches and platforms grace Hounslow, Mortlake, North Sheen and St Margarets.

On Friday, SWR will also mark the completion of £3million worth of accessibility improvements to Isleworth station.

This includes step free access to both platforms for the first time.
