Former England midfielder Peter Reid believes Lee Carsley could make the step up to become national team manager.

The Under-21 boss is believed to be under consideration to replace Gareth Southgate.

Other contenders are ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter, along with Eddie Howe and Mauricio Pochettino

However, Reid says he’s seen Carsley in action at St George’s Park and feels he has the respect of the squad.
