Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to reports of a chemical incident at a block of flats on Landridge Road in Fulham.

One man from a first-floor flat was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service, with a further four residents treated on scene.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus helped residents to evacuate, and ensured their safe return after a monitoring sweep of the building.

The cause of the incident, which occurred at half midnight and was over by 6am, is still under investigation.
