Maintenance work will start on a number of Lime trees in Leatherhead next week.

Mole Valley Council and Surrey County Council want to remove the trees in Church Street completely.

They say it’s necessary to reduce the potentially slippery residue that’s produced when they are in full leaf during the warmer months.

But the trees won’t be removed until the result of a public consultation is known later this summer.
