People are being reminded not to take barbeques to Bushy and Richmond Parks ahead of the warm weather this week.

The Royal Parks charity is reminding visitors they can bring a picnic, but BBQs are strictly forbidden.

The ban reduces the risk of accidental fires caused by falling embers and ash, which can spread quickly across dry grass, killing wildlife.

Visitors must also take litter home or place it in bins on the way out of the park for the safety of wildlife.
