A watchdog’s told Surrey Police to investigate the decision to hit an escaped cow with a patrol car in Staines.

The I-O-P-C wants the force to look into the officers’ communication with the public and whether it was “appropriate and proportionate” behaviour.

Last Friday night the footage attracted fierce criticism – officers say they tried a number of ways to catch the cow.
