Brentford based pharmaceutical giant Glaxo Smith Kline is partnering up in an initiative to tackle anti-microbial resistance around the world.

Anti-microbial resistance kills over one million people around the world each year.

It is a growing challenge in treating infectious disease killers such as tuberculosis, E. coli, and MRSA.

Glaxo Smith Kline is pledging £45 million to support the launch and continuation of what’s known as The Fleming Initiative.

This is a new global network of experts who will develop new AMR interventions.

Prince William is patron of the appeal to create the Fleming Initiative.
