A man, who’s been on the run for 27 years, has appeared in court, charged with historical child sex offences.

Richard Burrows, who’s 80, was arrested at Heathrow Airport last week as he returned to the UK from Thailand.

He’s accused of carrying out abuse at a children’s home in Cheshire and another in the West Midlands between 1969 and 1971.

He was remanded in custody and is due to face a further hearing in June, ahead of a trial in January 2025.
