Laws on the sale and possession of catapults must be tightened to drive down crime after a spate of swan attacks.

That’s according to Surrey Police’s deputy commissioner Ellie Vesey-Thompson after she visited Shepperton Swan Sanctuary.

One of the site’s volunteers, Danni Rogers, has launched a petition calling for the sale of catapults and ammunition to be made illegal.
