It follows a campaign by Richmond Park MP, Sarah Olney, who wanted transcripts of court proceedings to be issued free of charge.
It’s after one constituent was quoted £7,500 for a transcript of the trial in which her former partner was convicted of raping her.
Miss Olney is welcoming the pilot but says it doesn’t go far enough and is hopeful the issue will be addressed in the House of Lords.
