Police and the air ambulance were called just after 4am yesterday to the High Street where they found the male pedestrian.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, stopped at scene and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them on 101.
