The university of Surrey is playing a role in three new energy research centres that will contribute towards net zero targets.

The aim is to create innovative green technologies and reduce demand for energy.

Energy used in the UK is to be reduced fairly, hydrogen and ammonia developed as alternative fuels, and bioenergy production boosted.

Surrey is involved in three out of six centres to receive a £53 million investment from the UK Research and Innovation.
