A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following an incident at the Crowne Plaza in Surbiton.
48 year old Sher Wali, was also charged with possession of a bladed article.
Two men remain in a serious but stable condition in hospital with stab wounds following the incident yesterday.
Police were called to the scene outside the hotel and BMW garage in Portsmouth Road in the Long Ditton area just before 2pm.
The hotel is being used as a base for Afghan refugees.
A Home Office spokesperson said:
“We take the welfare and safety of those in our care incredibly seriously.
“We are aware of an incident in Surrey at a hotel housing Afghan refugees. We are working closely with Surrey Police and partners on the ground to support the investigation and those affected by today’s events.”
