Japan will host England for a rugby union Test match for the first time next year.

While England have toured the country in the past, the matches have never previously held Test status.

RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney says the fixture – which will be held in June – will be a “landmark occasion”.

The RFU says it’s because of the “strengthening relationship” between the two nations, after a match at Twickenham last year.
