The government has announced it’ll invest £20bn into its hospital building programme.
However, it’s unclear exactly what the construction timeline will be, and the earliest the new hospital can open is 2027.
Epsom and St Helier Hospitals have welcomed the news, saying the patient transport service has already been relocated to allow for building work.
