50 properties in Richmond are now being rented out to families in urgent need.

It’s after the council spent £21.5 million acquiring a number of properties.

The homes are being used as temporary accommodation for residents who may have otherwise been housed in B&Bs and hotels.

The council estimates it will save £1 million each year by reducing the reliance on costly nightly-paid temporary accommodation.
