The new entrance, now open at Battersea Power Station’s Electric Boulevard, is an important milestone in providing quicker and more direct access to the station for residents in the wider Battersea area and those visiting or working in the area.
The council is also working together with Battersea Power Station, Network Rail and TfL on plans to open a new walking route under Battersea Bridge Road which will give residents a safe, traffic-free journey to the new Underground entrance.
Future improvements to Stewarts Road are being developed with community input ahead of construction next year.
Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council, joined Seb Dance, Deputy Mayor for Transport, and Andy Lord, London’s Transport Commissioner, together with Sam Cotton, Interim CEO of Battersea Power Station Development Company, as the new entrance was officially opened. They were accompanied by local four-legged residents from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, which is just a three-minute walk from the station.
