35,000 extra GP appointments are to be created after the go ahead was given to build a new medical centre in a part of Croydon.

£6 million has been granted to the borough’s NHS for the new primary care centre.

It will be located in Katharine Street in Coulsdon and serve residents living in the south side of the borough.

Construction will begin later this year, with the facility expected to open its doors to patients in 2026.
