26 council homes which were being illegally sub-let in Hammersmith and Fulham are now back under authority control.

In one case, a woman was sub-letting her flat in Shepherds Bush to her daughter while she lived in Surbiton.

The council says its halted more than £475,000 worth of this type of fraud.

The properties in question have been re-issued to families in “genuine need.”
