25 firefighters have been called to a vehicle fire at a multi-storey car park at Heathrow Airport.

Reports of a blaze at the Terminal 3 car park came in just after 9 o’clock this morning.

Emergency services have closed the M4 Spur and the Heathrow Tunnel southbound from the M4 while they deal with the incident.

The fire has now been extinguished but the cause of the fire is not yet known.

A Heathrow spokesperson says: “Earlier this morning our teams responded to a small vehicle fire in the Multi Storey Car Park for Terminal 3. The fire was quickly extinguished. The car park is temporarily closed which may cause some congestion on surrounding roads. This is an isolated incident and all other car parks at Heathrow are operating as normal. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience.”
