100 people have been arrested by police who say they’re trying to target those who “pose the greatest risk” to the safety of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Officers carried out what they call “intelligence-led interventions”.

21 people were recalled to prison, with 11 firearms and more than 40 knives seized.

The Metropolitan force says 266 people either have police bail or probation licence conditions not to attend the carnival this weekend.
